Respiratory Therapist (RRT)

We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Respiratory Therapist (RRT) to join our team. This position requires working nights on a 3x12 or 4x12 shift schedule, focused on delivering high-quality respiratory care to patients in critical situations.

Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive respiratory care services, including airway management and ventilatory support.
• Utilize effective respiratory therapy techniques to assist patients in emergency and critical care settings.
• Perform assessments, develop care plans, and implement treatment protocols consistent with patients' needs.
• Float within the department as needed to maintain operational efficiency.
• Collaborate with healthcare teams to ensure coordinated patient care.

Shift Details

• Shift Options: 3x12 Nights or 4x12 Nights (18:00 - 06:30)
• Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend
• On-call Duty: Required as needed for departmental needs

Qualifications

• Minimum of 1 year of experience in Respiratory Therapy is required.
• Active Respiratory Therapist (RRT) certification is mandatory.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is required.
• Experience in Adult Critical Care and Emergency Department settings is essential.
• Proficiency in airway management, nebulizer techniques, oxygen therapy, and ventilator management is required.
• Cerner charting experience is required.

Required Skills and Experience

• Airway Management: Endotracheal tube placement, extubation, and intubation assistance.
• Suctioning Techniques: Oral and nasal airway suctioning, sputum specimen collection, tracheostomy care.
• Nebulizer Administration: Handheld devices, T-piece, and trach collar.
• Oxygen Therapy: Bag-mask ventilation, high flow nasal cannula (HFNC), and Venturi masks.
• Ventilator Management: Familiarity with BiPAP, CPAP, troubleshooting high-pressure alarms, and weaning protocols.

Additional Information

• Scrub Color: Any solid color scrubs.
• Parking: A parking permit is required, but there is no cost.
• RTO Restrictions: Ideally no more than 5 days of requested time off within the assignment.
