The Advana team is seeking a Chief Information Security Officer to join their program. Advana is the Chief Digital and Artificial Intelligence Office's (CDAO) enterprise-wide, multi-domain data, analytics, and artificial intelligence (AI) platform that provides all DoD military and civilian decision makers, analysts, and builders with unprecedented access to enterprise data, tools, and capabilities.

Responsibilities for this position include:

• Executing complex software engineering activities by transforming system design artifacts, user requirements, and mission workflows into scalable software capabilities supporting Advana operations on NIPRNet, SIPRNet, and JWICS.
• Developing advanced application features, data-processing logic, and automation modules using Python, Java, Go, JavaScript, Terraform, Docker, and Kubernetes to expand mission analytics, platform services, and customer-facing tools.
• Leading complex feature development, conducting in-depth code reviews, and driving high-volume story-point delivery across sprint cycles.
• Owning the application architecture, resolving design conflicts, defining the security-by-design baseline, and establishing immutable infrastructure patterns through reusable Terraform and Ansible modules.
• Reviewing all code for security and compliance alignment and architecting end-to-end pipeline workflows with clearly defined quality gates.
• Creating baseline STIG and container-hardening profiles, automating compliance reporting, and leading remediation strategies across mission applications.
• Designing Infrastructure-as-Code and Configuration-as-Code patterns that enforce environmental consistency, reduce configuration drift, and support repeatable provisioning across the full software lifecycle.
• Integrating automated testing components into continuous integration and continuous deployment pipelines to support unit testing, regression analysis, compliance validation, performance testing, and mission-aligned acceptance checks. Designing observability stacks, leading incident post-mortems, and authoring high-level architecture and compliance documentation. Evaluating emerging technologies and driving adoption strategies that strengthen mission resilience.
• Collaborating with platform engineering, cybersecurity operations, configuration-management teams, and DevSecOps pipeline engineers to resolve integration challenges and enhance reliability across mission applications.
• Delivering source-code updates, technical documentation, performance summaries, and enhancement recommendations that strengthen resilience, expand capability coverage, and improve operational effectiveness across the Advana ecosystem.

The likely salary range for this position is $111,155 - $150,385. This is not, however, a guarantee of compensation or salary. Rather, salary will be set based on experience, geographic location and possibly contractual requirements and could fall outside of this range.
