About the Position

Job Title: Registered Nurse Telemetry I Profession: RN Specialty: RN Telemetry I Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 06:30 PM - 07:00 AM Hours per Shift: 13 Experience: Minimum 1 year License: Registered Nurse License Certifications: BLS, NIH Certification Must-Have: Critical thinking skills, ability to work with minimal supervision, ability to work in a stressful environment Description: Provides direct nursing care in accordance with established policies, procedures, and protocols of the healthcare organization. Implements and monitors patient care plans. Monitors, records, and communicates patient conditions as appropriate. Serves as a primary coordinator for all disciplines to ensure well-coordinated patient care. Notes and carries out physician and nursing orders. Assesses and coordinates patients' discharge planning needs with members of the healthcare team. Within the scope of the job, requires critical thinking skills and decisive judgment. Must be able to work with minimal supervision. Follows standard precautions using personal protective equipment as required. Cares for all cardiac needs including post-operative care. The nurse to patient ratio is 1:4-6. Support is provided by patient care technicians and a healthcare unit coordinator. Utilization of virtual sitter monitoring is available as well as monitor technicians to monitor telemetry patients. May be required to work up to 6 weekend shifts in a 6-week schedule period and holidays if there is a departmental need.
