Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: RN Specialty: Emergency Department Duration: 13 Weeks Shift: Nights Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: 1 Year Preferred License: RN License in state of TX or compact Certifications: - Current BLS certification required - Current ACLS certification required - Current PALS certification required - Current TNCC certification required Must-Have: - Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing preferred - 1 year of experience in the related nursing specialty preferred Description: The competent nurse in a similar clinical setting practices independently. Demonstrates an awareness of all relevant aspects of a situation. Provides routine and complex care, with the ability to manage long-range goals or plans. Continuously develops the ability to cope with and manage contingencies of clinical nursing. Makes appropriate assignments and delegates to other care providers to help manage the clinical situation. Meets expectations of the applicable competencies: Leader of Self, Leader of Others, or Leader of Leaders. Consistent with the scope and standards of practice, provides nursing care utilizing the nursing process. This includes assessment, diagnosis, planning, intervention, and evaluation for assigned patients. Addresses increasingly complex psychological, emotional, cultural, and social needs of patients and families. Utilizes appropriate protocols to administer medications and treatments. Monitors for side effects and effectiveness of the prescribed treatment. Documents patient history, symptoms, medication, and care given. Assesses learning needs and provides education to patients, family members, and caregivers. Identifies issues and resources.
