About the Position

Job Title: Registered Nurse - Hospice Profession: Registered Nurse Specialty: Hospice Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Friday, Saturday, Sunday, Monday Hours per Shift: 10 hours Experience: Minimum 1 year of Hospice Experience License: RN License for the State of Maine Certifications: BLS Must-Have: Driver's license and must use own vehicle to drive from patient home to patient home. Description: Immediate start needed. Manager interviews will be conducted. The work shift consists of four 10-hour days. Patient census typically averages between 85-90 patients. Travelers with one year of experience will be accepted. Only travelers with Hospice experience will be considered for first-time travelers. Patient types include oncology diagnoses, dementia/Alzheimer’s, and end-stage CHF/COPD, as well as neurological conditions such as ALS, MS, and Parkinson's. Case managers average 15 to 20 patients. Nursing skill set is required to care for the common diagnoses listed above. Support within the department will be provided for scheduling and clinical management. Technology will include EMR systems and IV pumps provided through a vendor. If census is low, travelers may be asked to support other agency locations. Scheduling includes weekend rotations, typically once or twice a month, varying based on staffing. Overnight call requirements are from 5 PM to 8 AM, with rotation usually once or twice a month but may vary based on staffing needs. Travelers will be required to work on major holidays if assignment aligns with those dates. Requests for time off will require manager approval. Work attire will be business casual or scrubs with no specific color requirement. Assignments are home health, and travelers will be traveling from patient home to patient home. Onsite parking is available at the office location when stopping for meetings and picking up supplies.
