Job Title: GENERAL FOREMAN Location: Watkinsville, GA Reports To: Project Manager Pay Ranges: $40-$46/HR | $125 a day per diem GENERAL PURPOSE: General Foreman should have at least seven years of experience in the millwright field or in a related area. Individuals should be knowledgeable of advanced concepts, practices, and procedures within the millwright field, and they are able to perform all job tasks described for a Foreman. They should also have a strong understanding and knowledge of both customer and the company's standard operating procedures and policies. These individuals are required to lead and direct the work of others, and function as the onsite supervisor and contact for customers, vendors, and other employees. They are required to assist with maintaining tools and equipment, and they will perform various cleanup and housekeeping activities. ESSENTIAL FUNCATIONS (KEY WORK):
• Solely responsible and accountable for the safety of the crews under their direction and understand the importance and legal liability of the role.
• Function as the on-site Quality Lead as required to support the company's Management System.
• Study schedules and estimate employee hour requirements for completion of jobs and ensure that crews under their direction perform daily and weekly activities to meet production goals.
• Ability to review general work requirements from customers into a prioritized work plan for each crew.
• Ability to multitask and manage multiple crews and projects at multiple customer jobsites at once.
• Identify, verify, and report any scheduling conflicts with other contractors to the appropriate persons; communicates and coordinates with other trades to avoid and resolve schedule conflicts.
• Develop cost estimates for contracts and quotes for customers' future projects.
• Provide direction, leadership, support, and hold foremen accountable for meeting their responsibilities, goals, commitments, and provide them with necessary information.
• Perform competency assessments of subordinate employees.
• Works with Leadership to develop training plans and coaches to ensure that crews meet required levels of quality. PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: *Must be able to meet all physical requirements to perform the job.
• Must be able to climb, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, reach, stand, walk, push, pull, lift, grasp, twist, and bend for extended periods of time.
• Use arms and hands to reach for, handle or manipulate objects.
• Lift or carry materials weighing up to 50 pounds; occasionally lift items weighing more than 50 pounds with assistance.
• Must be able to work indoors and outdoors, including times of inclement weather.
• Manual dexterity needed for repetitive tasks and to operate standard operating equipment.
• Ability to climb in overhead structures, to work beneath machines and in close quarters performing analysis and repair work.
• Must be highly safety cautious and have ability to see and escape from dangerous situations.
• Ability to climb a ladder and step into various pieces of equipment.
• Good physical fitness, eye hand coordination, and ability to quickly respond to sounds.
• Good sense of balance and ability to move safely over uneven terrain or in confined spaces.
• Ability to wear PPE correctly for working shifts.
