Qualifications 2 year / Associate Degree in Nursing from a state‑accredited school (Required) 4 year / Bachelor's Degree in Nursing (Preferred) Work Experience 1+ year of Nursing Experience (Preferred) Licenses and Certifications Registered Nurse (RN) with current Georgia license Basic Life Support (BLS) Advanced Stroke Life Support (ASLS) (if working on a designated stroke unit) National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale (NIHSS) must be obtained within 2 years of hire Essential Functions Collect data in a systematic and ongoing process Identify issues and develop diagnoses based on assessment data Prioritize data collection based on the patient's condition and needs Identify expected outcomes and plan based on diagnoses or issues Develop an individualized plan with strategies that address diagnoses Provide continuity through a plan that directs other team members Implement the plan in a safe and timely manner Document implementation and include changes or omissions of the identified plan Consult with healthcare providers and make referrals as appropriate Utilize appropriate community resources and systems to implement the plan Document and submit required information and data in a timely fashion Clearly and accurately document designated processes, policies, products, service offerings, etc. Ensure that documentation is tailored to expected readers/users Use correct terminology Conform to required style and format Develop expected outcomes that provide direction for continuity of care Involve patient/family and other disciplines to determine expected outcomes Include the patient and others involved in the care in the evaluation process Evaluate the plan in relation to patient responses and expected outcomes, documenting the results of the evaluation Modify expected outcomes based on changes in the assessment of the patient Use the results of quality improvement activities in nursing practice Use creativity and innovation in nursing practice to improve care delivery Incorporate evidence‑based knowledge to initiate change in nursing practice Participate in quality improvement activities Be accountable for individual practice and delegate to provide optimum care Practice with compassion and respect Primary commitment is to advocate for the patient, family and community Assure patient safety through competency and growth of self and others Contribute to a healthy work environment through shared decision‑making Collaborate with other health professionals to meet healthcare needs Direct the coordination of care across settings and among caregivers Engage in teamwork as a team player and a team builder Serve in key roles at work through shared decision‑making Define a clear vision including goals and plans and measure progress Promote nursing through participation in professional organizations Additional Duties Adhere to the hospital and departmental attendance and punctuality guidelines Perform all job responsibilities in alignment with the core values, mission, and vision of the organization Perform other duties as required and complete all job functions as per departmental policies and procedures Maintain current knowledge in present areas of responsibility (i.e., self‑education, attend ongoing educational programs) Attend staff meetings and complete mandatory in‑services and requirements and competency evaluations on time Demonstrate competency at all levels in providing care to all patients based on age, sex, weight, and demonstrated needs.
