Base pay range $40.00/hr - $50.00/hr Direct message the job poster from Akkodis Akkodis is seeking a Quality Engineer for a 7 Months Contract job with a client in Irvine CA. We are looking for an experienced professional to join a dynamic team and contribute to quality assurance and continuous improvement efforts within a manufacturing environment. The successful candidate will collaborate with cross-functional teams to enhance manufacturing processes, support daily quality activities, participate in internal and external audits, and serve as a liaison to customers on quality-related matters. Rate Range: $40/hour to $50/hour; The rate may be negotiable based on experience, education, geographic location, and other factors. Education Requirements: • Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering or Aerospace Engineering. • 3 plus years working in the aerospace industry. • Working knowledge of ISO 9001:2015 and AS9100D Quality Management System processes. • Detailed knowledge of aerospace quality requirements and specifications. • Extensive experience with root cause analysis and corrective action. • Knowledge of auditing AS9100D / ISO 9001:2015 Quality standards. • Solid Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing knowledge. • Capable of reviewing and interpreting drawings, contracts / POs, and applicable processing standards. • Proficient in the use of digital/analog measuring instruments, e.g., micrometers, calipers, linear and dial gauges, height gauges, and a visual comparator. • Skilled at performing First Article inspections and generating FAIR per AS9102 requirements. • Proficiency with MS Office applications: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook. Roles and Responsibilities • This position will support various aspects of the Quality Management System ensuring world-class systems and performance through continual focus on process improvement, supplier development and customer interaction. • Support a culture of Continuous Improvement and positive Customer Experiences. Substantial knowledge of AS9100D or ISO 9001:2015 and formal problem-solving tools is essential. • Work closely with Engineering to ensure that designs meet applicable quality requirements. • Plan and perform internal quality audits and execute action items. • Lead quality initiatives, develop and facilitate quality teams. • Provide quality function support by working closely with Sales, Engineering, and Manufacturing to manage customer relations, expectations, needs and satisfaction • Independently drive and direct actions with departmental groups to maintain MRB and RMA issues. • Drive key quality performance metrics: DPPM, OTD, Cost of Quality, Customer Scorecards, Internal Audit Risk and Effectiveness, Supplier Performance, Contract Review. • Travel to customer and supplier locations as required. • Other duties and tasks as required.
