Position Overview We are seeking an experienced, analytical Poultry Buyer to manage the end-to-end procurement of poultry products for our client’s supply chain and distribution network. In this role, you will be responsible for sourcing high-quality poultry, negotiating supplier contracts, monitoring market trends, and optimizing inventory levels to ensure seamless operations and cost efficiency. Key Responsibilities Supplier Sourcing & Management: Identify, vet, and maintain relationships with top-tier poultry suppliers, processors, and producers. Contract Negotiation: Negotiate favorable pricing, volume tiers, delivery schedules, and quality specifications to maximize margins. Market Analysis: Monitor protein market trends, commodity price fluctuations, and supply-and-demand dynamics to inform strategic purchasing decisions. Inventory & Demand Planning: Collaborate with logistics, sales, and warehouse teams to forecast demand and maintain optimal stock levels while minimizing waste. Quality & Compliance: Ensure all purchased poultry products meet strict USDA standards, food safety protocols, and company quality specifications. Vendor Performance Tracking: Track supplier delivery performance, fill rates, and product quality issues, resolving discrepancies proactively. Qualifications Experience: 3+ years of professional purchasing, procurement, or supply chain experience, specifically within the poultry, meat, or broader food protein sector. Industry Knowledge: Strong familiarity with poultry grading, cuts, processing standards, and cold-chain distribution logistics. Negotiation & Analytical Skills: Proven negotiation track record with strong analytical skills to evaluate market data and manage commodity price risks. Software Proficiency: Experience with ERP systems, procurement software, and advanced MS Excel. Education: Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Agriculture Business, Food Science, or a related field (or equivalent practical experience). #J-18808-Ljbffr
