Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Med/Surg night shift position requiring Level 1 Trauma and Epic charting experience.

Details

• Work in the Inpatient Overflow Med/Surg unit of a Level 1 Trauma hospital
• Night shift schedule from 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM
• 36 hours per week across 3 shifts of 12 hours each
• No on-call responsibilities
• Weekend and holiday shifts required as needed
• Floating required to similar units
• Uses Epic EMR charting system

Requirements

• Active Illinois RN license in good standing (temporary license accepted)
• Current BLS certification (American Heart Association)
• Minimum one (1) year of relevant nursing experience
• ASN required, BSN preferred
• Level 1 Trauma experience required
• Epic charting experience required

Additional Information

• Provide direct patient care for a designated group of Med/Surg patients including assessments, care planning, and medication administration
• Receive bedside shift report and validate a safe patient room environment at each shift change
• Delegate and validate completion of patient care tasks assigned to Health Care Technicians
• Maintain patient safety through fall precautions, pressure ulcer prevention, isolation precautions, and ambulation safety
• Communicate and collaborate with the interdisciplinary healthcare team to coordinate patient care
• Support timely admission and discharge processes for Observation status patients
• Must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible for this position
• RTO limited to no more than 7 total days per 13-week contract
• Candidates who have worked at this health system continuously for more than 1 year must take a 6-month break in service before returning
