About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Piping Checker to support engineering and construction projects through the review and verification of piping design deliverables. This role is ideal for a detail-oriented professional with extensive piping design experience and a strong understanding of industry codes, standards, and construction documentation.


The successful candidate will be responsible for reviewing piping isometric drawings, ensuring accuracy and completeness, and supporting the timely delivery of construction packages. This position offers the opportunity to collaborate with multidisciplinary engineering teams while contributing to complex industrial projects.
Pay: $75.00- $85.00 per hour DOEWork Arrangement
Hybrid Work Schedule

• Candidates located in the Greenville, SC area are expected to work from the office two days per week.
• Candidates located outside the Greenville area may be eligible for remote work arrangements based on project requirements.

Key Responsibilities

• Review and check piping isometric drawings for construction packages.
• Verify piping isometrics against P&IDs, material specifications, stress analysis reports, stress isometrics, equipment drawings, and instrumentation drawings.
• Utilize established checklists to ensure completeness, accuracy, and compliance with project requirements.
• Navigate 3D CAD environments to extract and verify design information.
• Identify discrepancies and coordinate corrections with design teams.
• Ensure drawings comply with applicable codes, standards, and project specifications.
• Meet project schedules and deadlines to support construction activities.
• Collaborate with piping designers, engineers, stress analysts, and other project stakeholders.
• Support quality assurance and quality control processes throughout project execution.

Required Qualifications

• Minimum 20 years of professional experience in piping design and/or piping design checking.
• Extensive demonstrated experience in the design and review of piping systems.
• Thorough knowledge of piping design codes, standards, and industry best practices.
• Ability to review and interpret:
  • Piping & Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs)
  • Material Specifications
  • Stress Analysis Reports
  • Equipment and Vendor Drawings
  • Instrumentation Drawings
• Basic proficiency with 3D CAD design platforms.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
• Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with multidisciplinary teams.
• Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet project deadlines.

Preferred Qualifications

• Associate's Degree or higher in Engineering Technology, Drafting, Design, or a related discipline.
• Experience supporting large industrial, manufacturing, chemical, energy, or process facility projects.
• Experience with construction package development and design reviews.
• Familiarity with industry-standard CAD and plant design software.
