Director of Arrhythmia Services

Our organization is in search of a Director for Arrhythmia Services to oversee a well-established electrophysiology program catering to the New York Capital Region. This role presents a unique chance to enhance and broaden a comprehensive electrophysiology initiative, emphasizing innovation, clinical excellence, education, mentorship, and research endeavors. The academic title will be determined as either Associate Professor or Professor , contingent upon qualifications and experience.

We are expanding our team, which currently includes 18 cardiologists and 5 advanced practice providers, to address the growing demand for our services. Established in 1839, our institution is one of the oldest private medical schools in the nation and hosts the only academic tertiary care hospital in the Capital Region.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide clinical and strategic leadership for the Electrophysiology section, focusing on program expansion, quality improvement, and patient outcomes.
  • Establish an electrophysiology fellowship program in partnership with division and institutional Graduate Medical Education (GME) leadership.
  • Create new clinical pathways, services, and outreach initiatives to boost procedural and referral volumes.
  • Collaborate with faculty in advanced heart failure, interventional cardiology, cardiothoracic surgery, and cardiovascular imaging.
  • Support the education and professional development of fellows, residents, and advanced practice providers.
  • Work with institutional research leadership to enhance clinical trials and investigator-initiated studies in electrophysiology.
  • Mentor junior faculty and trainees, focusing on scholarly productivity and career advancement.
  • Promote the academic, clinical, and educational missions of the Division of Cardiology.
Qualifications
  • MD/DO (or equivalent) with board certification in Cardiovascular Disease and/or Clinical Cardiac Electrophysiology.
  • Completion of a fellowship in clinical cardiac electrophysiology.
  • Experience in an academic medical center, demonstrating leadership, program development, and research engagement.
  • Proven track record in teaching, mentorship, and scholarly contributions suitable for an appointment at the Associate Professor or Professor level.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to collaborate across various specialties.
  • Eligibility for medical licensure in New York State.
