Shift Manager

- This is a Full Time Position - Open Availability is required - Full Benefits 1st of the month following 60 days of employment - Pay increase to $16/hr after completion of Shift Manager Training - A minimum of 6 months previous Retail Management experience Required Our mission is to work as a team, taking responsibility in building loyalty with our customers and our co-workers, to improve sales, oversee all site operations to maximize profits, to exceed expectations providing service and products that combine high quality with integrity and to assist all internal and external customers to assure that their needs are met in a 'Customer Service Plus 1' manner. Position Summary: Act as the Store Manager in his/her absence. Oversee work of shift personnel as assigned. Maximize customer satisfaction, sales and profit. Job Responsibilities: Maximize Customer Satisfaction and Sales Improvement by delivering Customer Service +1 - Provide quick, friendly service, with a welcoming smile - Ensure staff is customer service focused - Organize time of self and others to ensure Customer Service Plus One - Suggest additional and promotional items /suggestive selling - Create a pleasant and positive work environment - Handle customer's questions, complaints and concerns quickly and appropriately Oversee the Work of Shift Personnel - Treat Associates fairly and consistently - Orient, train and develop new Associates and retrain existing Associates, to improve individual and store performance - Prioritize duties, manage time of self and shift personnel Oversee store cleanliness and conditions, inside and out by performing continuous store - Ensure alcohol, tobacco, lotto and instant lottery sales are appropriately handled - Ensure shift coverage, making special arrangements if necessary - Communicate shift activities or concerns to Store Manager and fellow Shift Managers - Maintain displays and product presentation; suggest merchandising improvements - Willing to work flexible hours when needed General Duties and Operations - Enter orders/variances in system accurately and assist with build to's - Perform stocking, cleaning, and cashier duties as needed on the shift - Follow policy on cash handling/reporting - Perform shift and daily opening/closing activities - Perform Vendor check-in procedures Safety and Security - Ensure internal and external store areas are kept free of safety hazards - Ensure security monitoring is running and operating properly - Correct and report any safety or security violations, concerns, - Follow food safety guidelines - Responsible for ensuring all staff are following food and safety regulations Personal Conduct - Model outstanding behaviors for others on their shifts - Follow through on assigned tasks, demonstrate urgency in task completion - Maintain confidentiality of store personnel and operation - Follow and enforce all policies: dress code, attendance, Essential Skills, Abilities and Physical Demands: Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing with customers and Associates Ability to work without close supervision Ability to work with and through other people Judgment and decision making to handle questions or problems relating to people, equipment, products, etc. Ability to read, follow and implement policies, procedures and programs Awareness of merchandising, safety/security and personnel issues which need attention Ability to adapt to
