Sanitation Technician, 3rd Shift $22.00/hr.+*

As a Sanitation Technician, you will play a crucial role in maintaining cleanliness and hygiene standards within our food manufacturing facility. Your work will ensure that all equipment, surfaces, and production areas meet regulatory sanitation requirements, thereby contributing to the safety and quality of our food products. Responsibilities Execute thorough cleaning and sanitation procedures according to company protocols and regulatory guidelines, including equipment disassembly, chemical cleaning, and sanitation of production areas. Conduct routine inspections of equipment and facilities to identify sanitation issues or areas requiring maintenance. Monitor cleaning supplies and equipment inventory, promptly reporting any deficiencies or replenishment needs. Ensure compliance with all relevant food safety and sanitation regulations, such as FDA, USDA, and HACCP standards, and implement necessary changes to sanitation procedures when regulations are updated. Maintain accurate records of sanitation activities, including cleaning schedules, inspection reports, and sanitation logs, and assist in preparing documentation for regulatory inspections and audits. Work closely with production and quality assurance teams to coordinate sanitation activities with production schedules and communicate effectively with colleagues to address sanitation‑related issues. Identify opportunities for process optimization and efficiency improvements in sanitation procedures, participating in training sessions and continuous learning opportunities to stay updated on best practices. Flexibly work overtime and non‑standard hours as needed, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, and perform all other duties as assigned. Schedule and Availability Monday–Thursday: 10:30PM–7:00AM or 11:30PM–7:30AM Weekends: 12‑hour overnight shifts (11:00PM–11:00AM) Schedule includes two days off between the week and overtime as required. Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent required; additional education or certification in food safety or sanitation preferred. Previous experience in sanitation, preferably in a food manufacturing or processing environment. Knowledge of food safety regulations and sanitation best practices. Ability to follow detailed instructions and work independently with minimal supervision. Strong attention to detail and commitment to maintaining high standards of cleanliness and hygiene. Good communication skills and ability to work effectively in a team environment. Supervisory responsibilities: none. Physical Demands and Working Conditions Daily exposure to dirt, dust, fumes, odors, darkness, poor lighting, noise, and vibration. Seasonal exposure to extreme temperatures, wetness, and humidity. Work involves daily exposure to physical risks and hazards, such as working around mechanical equipment, forklifts, chemical hazards, electrical hazards, fire and explosives hazards, and communicable diseases. Must stand, walk around office, warehouse, and plant; lift and carry packages up to 50pounds; and use fine dexterity to reach, kneel, crawl, and twist on a daily basis.
