This is a 13-week contract position.

Job Description

The Occupational Therapist plans, organizes, develops, administers, directs, and supervises OT treatment in accordance with current applicable federal, state, and local standards, regulations, and guidelines. Our focus on safety allows us to provide superior care for our patients while creating a supportive work environment for our employees.

Responsibilities

• Assess patients' level of functioning upon physician orders and implement appropriate treatment plans.
• Participate in discharge planning, including patient/family education and adaptive equipment recommendations.
• Complete all necessary documentation according to department policy and procedures.
• Supervise Certified Occupational Therapy Assistants and students in the application of OT techniques.
• Communicate effectively with patients and their families at their level of understanding.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to provide optimal patient care.
• Maintain a focus on patient and employee safety in all aspects of care.
• Participate in continuous quality improvement initiatives and document implementation.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• BLS certification required prior to the first shift.
• Valid, current State license as an Occupational Therapist.
• Minimum of 2 years of experience in Occupational Therapy, with previous inpatient rehab experience preferred.
