Job Title: Senior Accountant (Sage 100 & Job Costing)

Job Type: Full-TimeTemp-to-perm

Job Salary: $90,000

Job Schedule: M-F, 40 hrs/week

Job Location: Houston, TX 77042

Position Summary

The Senior Accountant is a hands-on accounting professional responsible for monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reporting , job costing , and maintaining general ledger accuracy. This role requires strong Sage 100 experience and the ability to partner with operations to ensure accurate project/job profitability reporting.


Key Responsibilities

Financial Reporting & Close

• Prepare and support monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements (P&L, balance sheet, cash flow).
• Perform month-end closeactivities, including journal entries, accruals, and accountreconciliations.
• Assist with year-end close,audits, and tax support schedules.

Job Costing & Operational Accounting

• Manage and maintain job/project costing in Sage 100, including labor, materials, overhead, and margin analysis.
• Prepare job cost andprofitability reports for leadership and operations teams.
• Monitor cost variances andsupport corrective actions with operational leaders.

General Accounting

• Maintain general ledger integrity and account reconciliations.
• Support A/P, A/R, payrollcoordination, and fixed asset accounting.
• Ensure accurate revenuerecognition and expense classification in accordance with GAAP.

Systems & Process Support

• Serve as a key user for Sage 100 , including reporting, troubleshooting, and data integrity.
• Identify process improvementsto improve close timelines, accuracy, and reporting quality.
• Support internal controls anddocumentation.

Requirements

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance
• 4-7 years of accounting experience
• Hands-on Sage 100 experience (required)
• Demonstrated experience with jobcosting / project accounting
• Strong Excel skills(reconciliations, analysis, schedules)
• Working knowledge of GAAP

Preferred Qualifications

• Public or telecom industry accounting background
• Experience in project-basedenvironments (construction, manufacturing, IT, staffing,healthcare, facilities, etc.)
• CPA or CPA-track (preferred butnot required)
