Event Sales Manager

Overview

We are seeking a passionate, driven, and sales-oriented Events Manager to lead the planning and execution of events that elevate our brand, generate revenue, and create memorable experiences for our guests.

Position Summary

The Events Manager is responsible for driving event sales and revenue across Miami Beach Hotel Group's portfolio of hotels and restaurants. This role oversees the full event lifecycle, from lead generation and sales conversion through planning, execution, and post-event follow-up. The ideal candidate is a motivated salesperson and skilled event professional who can build strong client relationships, secure new business, and ensure flawless event execution while meeting revenue and profitability goals.

Key Responsibilities

Event Sales & Business Development

• Generate new event business through prospecting, networking, referrals, and local partnerships.

• Respond to inquiries promptly and convert leads into confirmed bookings.
• Conduct venue tours, site inspections, and client consultations.
• Prepare customized proposals, menus, pricing packages, and presentations.
• Negotiate contracts and secure deposits while maximizing revenue opportunities.
• Manage and maintain a pipeline of corporate, social, wedding, and private dining event opportunities.
• Develop relationships with wedding planners, event agencies, destination management companies (DMCs), corporate clients, and local businesses.
• Upsell food & beverage packages, venue enhancements, entertainment, and additional event services.
• Meet or exceed monthly, quarterly, and annual event revenue goals.
• Participate in networking events, trade shows, and community outreach opportunities to promote Miami Beach Hotel Group venues.

Client Relations

• Serve as the primary point of contact for clients throughout the sales and planning process.

• Build long-term relationships that drive repeat business and referrals.
• Conduct post-event follow-ups and gather client feedback.
• Deliver exceptional customer service and maintain high client satisfaction levels.

Event Planning & Coordination

• Plan and coordinate weddings, private dining events, corporate meetings, receptions, and social functions.

• Develop event timelines, floor plans, Banquet Event Orders (BEOs), and event specifications.
• Collaborate with culinary and beverage teams on menu planning, tastings, and special requests.
• Coordinate décor, entertainment, audiovisual services, rentals, and third-party vendors.
• Lead BEO and event review meetings with operational teams.
• Ensure compliance with health, safety, and licensing requirements.

Event Execution

• Oversee on-site event setup, service, and breakdown.

• Act as the primary point of contact during events.
• Ensure all departments execute event details accurately and efficiently.
• Manage guest satisfaction and service standards throughout the event.
• Troubleshoot issues quickly and professionally.
• Ensure events operate on schedule and within budget.

Administrative & Financial

• Maintain accurate records within event management and CRM systems.

• Manage event contracts, invoicing, deposits, and final payments.
• Track event revenue and performance against sales targets.
• Prepare revenue forecasts and sales reports.
• Monitor budgets and control costs to ensure profitability.
• Maintain accurate sales activity reports and booking records.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Hospitality, Event Management, Marketing, Business, or a related field preferred.

• 2-5+ years of experience in hospitality event sales, catering sales, hotel events, restaurant private dining, or event management.
• Proven track record of meeting or exceeding sales and revenue goals.
• Strong knowledge of food & beverage operations.
• Experience with event management, CRM, or hotel booking systems.
• Knowledge of the South Florida hospitality and events market preferred.
