Inventory Management Specialist II

We are seeking an organized and detail-oriented Inventory Management Specialist II to support inventory control, shipping, receiving, and warehouse operations at our New Hudson, MI facility. This position is responsible for maintaining accurate inventory records, coordinating material movement, resolving discrepancies, and ensuring efficient day-to-day inventory operations.

The ideal candidate will have experience in inventory management or warehouse operations, strong problem-solving abilities, and the ability to prioritize multiple responsibilities in a fast-paced environment. This role requires independent judgment, attention to detail, and collaboration with procurement, production, and logistics teams.

Key Responsibilities

• Monitor and maintain inventory levels to ensure material availability and initiate replenishment activities as needed.
• Perform regular cycle counts, reconcile inventory records, and investigate discrepancies.
• Coordinate receiving operations, including verifying incoming materials, maintaining documentation, and updating inventory systems.
• Plan and execute shipping activities, including scheduling shipments, coordinating carriers, and ensuring timely deliveries.
• Ensure materials are properly packaged, labeled, and shipped in accordance with applicable regulations and company procedures.
• Analyze inventory data to identify trends, discrepancies, and opportunities for operational improvements.
• Investigate and resolve issues involving shipments, returns, inventory shortages, and stock discrepancies.
• Support and train entry-level inventory and warehouse personnel on established processes and procedures.
• Collaborate with procurement, production, warehouse, and logistics teams to maintain efficient material flow.
• Assist in implementing process improvements to enhance inventory accuracy, efficiency, and productivity.
• Maintain accurate inventory documentation and ensure compliance with company policies, safety standards, and applicable regulations.

Required Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 25 years of experience in inventory management, warehouse operations, shipping/receiving, or a related field.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Demonstrated problem-solving skills and ability to investigate inventory discrepancies.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and complete tasks efficiently.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with cross-functional teams.
• U.S. citizenship required for this ITAR-controlled position.

Preferred Qualifications

• Associate degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, or a related field.
• Experience using inventory management software or Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems.
• Experience conducting cycle counts, inventory reconciliation, and inventory analysis.
• Familiarity with shipping documentation, carrier coordination, and warehouse safety procedures.
• Experience supporting process improvements or training junior warehouse personnel.

Additional Position Details

• Schedule: Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM
• On-Site Requirement: This position requires daily on-site attendance and reliable transportation.
• Interview Process: Initial 20-minute HR phone screening, followed by an on-site interview and facility tour with the hiring manager for selected candidates.
