Office: Northern (CT, DE, IL, IN, KY, MA, MD, ME, MI, NH, NJ, NY, OH, PA, RI, VA, VT, WV) Summary: Performs inspection, maintenance, and/or restoration of utility infrastructure. May be responsible for the direct supervision and independent operation of one or more crew members. Must be at least 20 years of age and will be subject to a background check and Motor Vehicle Report. Responsibilities: The responsibilities listed below may vary in accordance with the service provided and reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform these essential functions: Perform work according to standard work practices, procedures, and customer specifications, including but not limited to excavating soil, inspecting structures, applying preservatives and/or coatings, installing steel trusses, and restoring the job site to its original condition. Maintain good customer and public relations by maintaining a professional appearance, being courteous, and communicating in a clear, respectful manner. Maintain a positive company image, including the appearance of the crew, vehicles, and work areas. Independently train, motivate and supervise one or more employees of diverse backgrounds and skill levels. Operate vehicles to transport material, equipment, and one or more employees to and from job site—including utility vehicles (UTVs) and trailer towing, as needed. Collect, record, and submit accurate, complete, and timely data related to hours worked and/or work performed. Manage vehicle, equipment, and tool maintenance, as assigned. Promote and enforce safety by ensuring safe work practices are followed, monitoring and maintaining tool condition, and ensuring all drivers of company vehicles are Osmose-qualified. Enforce and comply with all company and/or customer-required policies and procedures, including but not limited to crew member coaching, disciplinary action, a Drug and Alcohol-Free Workplace, prohibition of harassment, discrimination, and retaliation. Temporarily fulfill all duties performed by a Foreman in the Foreman’s absence • Perform all other reasonable duties as assigned by the Foreman or Supervisor. Education and/or Experience: Must successfully complete all aspects of the Crew Leader Training Program. The length of training is dependent on the profit center and/or type of service. Certificates, Licenses, and/or Registrations: hold a valid driver’s license issued in the United States; 2) have a minimum of 3 years of driving history; and 3) consent to initial and periodic Motor Vehicle Report (“MVR”) checks and continuous license monitoring. May be required to obtain (or work under) a state pesticide applicator license. May be required to obtain and pass a DOT medical exam. Technical Skills: Ability to effectively read and follow maps, understand and follow complex procedures and specifications, and utilize a handheld data collection device (e.g., tablet or handheld computer). Must have strong computer skills and the technical aptitude to learn Osmose software applications. Performance Standards: The following standards are used for the purposes of evaluating job performance, consideration for promotion, pay rate increases and separation of employment: Extend courtesy and respect to the public, customers, coworkers and supervisory personnel. Work in a safe manner. Repeated unsafe practices will result in disciplinary action or separation of employment. Must be able to comprehend and demonstrate the ability to perform all responsibilities of a Crew Leader after a reasonable period of time. Operate all tools, vehicles and equipment at an acceptable and reasonable level. Achieve and maintain production goals. Physical Demands: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand and walk. They must have full range of mobility in upper and lower body. The employee is frequently required to sit; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; talk; hear. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 pounds. Work Environment: While performing the duties of this job, the employee may routinely handle and/or apply preservatives, coatings, and/or other chemical substances. The position regularly works in outdoor conditions that include inclement weather, heat and humidity, cold and freezing temperatures, and exposure to poisonous plants, insects, and allergens. The employee may also be exposed to energized electrical equipment and will be required to take appropriate precautions. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate with short periods of loud noise exceeding 85 decibels. Travel: Varies by customer and/or location, and can include frequent Monday through Friday overnight travel throughout one or more states. Extended work weeks and overtime hours are probable during peak work periods or for specific jobs. Must maintain consistent attendance record and be available for work Monday through Saturday.
