Position Title: Specialist - Enrollment Campus: East Peoria Campus, Peoria Campus Employment Type: Classified, Staff Full time Department: Enrollment Start Date: 07/06/2026 Summary As a member of the Division of Student Success at Illinois Central College, the Enrollment Specialist is essential in fostering positive student interactions, enhancing student-centered processes, cultivating a sense of belonging, and collaborating to support student success. Reporting directly to the Enrollment Services Manager and focused on providing frontline service support by effectively communicating policies and procedures, assisting students throughout the enrollment process, offering financial literacy education, guiding them through financial aid and academic standards, and collaborating with partner areas within Enrollment Services, such as the Registrar, Student Financial Services, and Veterans services. Additionally, the specialist connects students with other college services and departments to enhance student success and satisfaction, all while adhering to the college's Cougar CARE Principles. This position helps to advance departmental and divisional goals while supporting the college’s overall mission and strategic priorities. Compensation for the Specialist- Enrollment is $17.90 - $20.58 an hour. This list is meant to be representative, not exhaustive. Essential Functions Facilitate student success by offering personalized support, guiding students to resources, and acknowledging each student's unique story. Enhance student success by identifying and providing feedback on process improvements and utilizing data as needed to ensure that resources and services effectively meet student needs. Support student success by collaborating with Enrollment Services partners and other departments across campus as needed to ensure coordinated efforts in addressing student needs and enhancing overall outcomes. Advance student success by engaging in ongoing professional development and growth opportunities to stay current with best practices and effectively address evolving student needs. Communicate policies, procedures, and instructions to potential and current ICC students and parents regarding admissions, records, student financial services, and financial aid programs. Assist students throughout the enrollment and financial aid application process, providing guidance on requirements, timelines, and necessary documentation to ensure a smooth transition into their academic journey, while also assisting departments with the bulk enrollment of students and hold resolution. Provide financial literacy education to students regarding aid eligibility, borrowing limits, and the basics of grants, loans, and work study financial aid. Guide students through the Financial Aid process and serve as a liaison to the financial aid department, including advising on Satisfactory Academic Progress (SAP) standards, special or unusual circumstances, and assisting with the appeal process. Support students and parents with the online payment system, including tuition payments, payment plan set up, special payment arrangements, establishing direct deposit refund accounts, and authorizing users. Assist with records and data management processes to ensure efficient operations and maintain accurate documentation related to all functions in Enrollment Services including, but not limited to, generating official transcripts. Conduct outreach initiatives for financial aid, accounting, and records to inform and assist students providing resources and support to help them understand their financial responsibilities and options, as well as assisting with checklist items and resolving holds to facilitate smooth enrollment, aid retention, and support student success throughout their educational journey. Serve as a cashier by processing payments, assisting students in setting up payment plans, and resolving outstanding balances, residency and transcript issues, including correcting tuition charges, selling bus passes, and handling other related transactions while coordinating with Student Financial Services and assisting students with submitting tuition appeals to ensure a smooth financial experience for students. Knows, understands and acts in accordance with Illinois Central College’s Cougar CARE Principles, including connects with students, owns the situation, uses opportunities to build relationships, goes the extra mile, acts promptly and professionally and remembers to work as a team. Perform related duties as required. Minimum Qualifications Associate’s degree in business or related field, or equivalent in job experience (or equivalent work experience). One year of experience in an office environment with a fast-paced workflow. Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite. Availability to work night and weekend work may be required during peak enrollment periods. Strong typing skills include the ability to type 45+ words per minute. Strong customer service skills and ability to handle high-volume inquiries with varying modes of contact. Strong organizational skills. Strong analytical skills to analyze a student account and financial aid status advising and problem-solving as appropriate. Strong verbal and written communication skills. Strong interpersonal skills, including the ability to establish and maintain cooperative and professional working relationships with others. Preferred Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in business or related field. Two plus years office experience in a higher education organization. Experience working with ImageNow document imaging system. Experience working with PeopleSoft enterprise system. Knowledge of state and federal financial aid guidelines and regulations. Knowledge of enrollment procedures and requirements. Knowledge of admissions, enrollment and financial records for students.
