Railcar Repair Technician

Railcar Technician Conducts all aspects of repair and maintenance on tank cars, ensuring compliance with AAR rules and regulations. Requires safety‑conscious behavior, strong leadership and teamwork skills. Responsibilities Perform railcar repairs using current procedures. Conduct inspections to verify compliance and carry out necessary repairs. Deliver customer support, meeting expectations and ensuring satisfaction. Handle clerical duties: maintain invoicing, inspection records, work order information. Maintain certifications, including tank car welding and other required credentials. Support other work‑related tasks as assigned. Qualifications High school diploma or GED. Mechanical aptitude with problem‑solving and decision‑making skills. Proficiency with hand tools for welding and repair work. Experience in railcar repairs and inspections. Strong customer‑relations skills and teamwork ability. Ability to work in all weather conditions. Valid driver’s license. Welding background is a plus. Physical Requirements Stoop for extended periods; transition from kneeling to standing. Wear a respirator. Lift up to 50 pounds from the ground. Climb ladders and work at elevated heights. Work in confined spaces. Pass a company physical exam. Fit into a man‑way opening as small as 20in. in diameter. Compensation and Benefits Hourly starting rate: $24.08. Tuition reimbursement program. Medical, dental, vision coverage.
