Senior Quality Assurance Analyst

Purpose

The Senior Quality Assurance Analyst reports to the Application Development Manager or Director.

Position Responsibilities

• Develop and establish quality assurance standards and measures for the organization's information technology services.
• Gather and analyze data to support business cases, proposed projects, and system requirements.
• Create comprehensive test plans, test cases, and test scripts.
• Track, document, and verify software defects and resolutions throughout the development lifecycle.
• Support testing for software applications, information systems, and operational systems.
• Collaborate with developers, business analysts, and project stakeholders to ensure product quality.
• Demonstrate a commitment to the organization's core values.

Required Experience & Qualifications

• 10+ years of experience designing, developing, and implementing software quality assurance standards.
• 10+ years of experience serving as a lead tester for major application integrations and/or enterprise software releases.
• Strong knowledge of software testing methodologies, best practices, and SDLC.
• Extensive experience testing enterprise software applications.
• Hands-on experience with:
  • Automated testing tools
  • Ad hoc query tools
  • Reporting software
• Experience with statistical reporting and analysis.
• Strong project management skills or significant experience working in project-based environments.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong presentation, interpersonal, and listening skills.
• Ability to prioritize multiple assignments in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment.
• Experience working in collaborative, team-oriented environments.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
• Experience using test planning and defect tracking tools.

Preferred Qualifications

• Previous consulting experience.
• Familiarity with Informatica ETL and Master Data Management (MDM).

Education

• Bachelor's degree from an accredited four-year college or university or
• Equivalent combination of education and extensive experience in enterprise application test planning and execution.

• Develop and establish quality assurance standards and measures for the information technology services within the organization.

• Write test plans and scripts for tracking defects and fixes in product development, software application development, information systems, and operations systems.

EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS:
• 10+ years direct experience in overseeing the design, development, and implementation of quality assurance standards for software testing.
• 10+ years direct experience as a lead tester for major application integration and/or major application product release.
• Strong knowledge of system testing best practices and methodologies. Extensive experience with core software applications.
• Direct hands-on experience with ad hoc query programs, automated testing tools, and reporting software.
• Experience with statistical reporting and analysis.
• Good project management skills and/or substantial exposure to project-based work structures.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills.
• Excellent listening, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
• Able to prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment.
• Experience working in a team-oriented, collaborative environment.
• Experience with communication tools like MS-Word, MS-Excel, MS-PowerPoint.
• Comfortable with test planning and tracking tools

PREFERRED SKILLS:
• Previous consulting experience desired
• Familiarity with Informatica's ETL/MDM

EDUCATION:
• Four year college degree or extensive experience in application test planning and execution for enterprise application.
