What You'll Do as a CT Technologist
- Perform computed tomography (CT) imaging procedures following physician orders and established protocols.
- Provide direct and indirect patient care services tailored to individual patient needs.
- Ensure patient safety, comfort, and dignity throughout imaging procedures.
- Communicate effectively with patients, families, physicians, leadership, and healthcare team members.
- Maintain accurate documentation and imaging records in compliance with regulatory standards.
- Operate CT equipment safely and efficiently while adhering to radiation safety guidelines.
- Respond promptly and appropriately to changes in patient condition and emergency situations.
- Demonstrate ARHS Mission, Vision, and Values through professionalism, accountability, and teamwork.
- Support coworkers, patients, families, and visitors within scope of practice and licensure.
Minimum Education
- Graduate of an AMA-accredited radiologic sciences program .
- Applicable registry credential required; R-CT preferred .
- Clinical radiographic and imaging experience from an AMA-accredited health science program required.
- One (1) year of diagnostic radiology experience preferred.
- Ability to successfully complete the CT Technologist Level II orientation program .
- CT registry required within two (2) years of achieving Level II competency.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) from the American Heart Association required at time of hire.
- Ability to communicate courteously and effectively with patients, families, staff, and physicians using positive verbal and non-verbal skills.
- Competence in delivering safe and effective patient care within the legal limits of licensure, certifications, and hospital policies.
- Knowledge of the continuum of care provided within the patient care department.
- Strong customer service skills with a commitment to patient-centered care.
- Continuous standing and walking for 8+ hours per shift .
- Speaking, reading, and writing for extended periods (8+ hours per day ).
- Exposure to vibration and cramped spaces for more than 1 hour per day .
- Frequent patient mobilization exceeding 4 hours per day .
- Frequent lifting, carrying, pushing, and pulling of 50 pounds or more .
- Frequent bending, squatting, kneeling, twisting, turning, and reaching.
- Frequent fine motor use involving hands, fingers, and wrists with moderate dexterity.
- Frequent close eye work and exposure to soft voices at distances greater than 3 feet.
- Frequent exposure to ionizing and non-ionizing radiation , including X-ray and microwave.
- Regular exposure to bloodborne pathogens.
- Exposure to electrical, mechanical, and power equipment hazards.
- Exposure to unpleasant elements such as accidents, injuries, slippery surfaces, and uneven terrain.
- Must be able to respond to emergency or crisis situations.
- Subject to irregular hours including days, evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays.
- On-call coverage required .
