Position Details Job Title: Trauma Perf Improvement Nurse/Adult/UKHC Requisition Number: NR15117 Department: H7000: Trauma and Acute Care Surgery Services Location: Lexington, KY Grade Level: 12 Salary Range: $62,400–111,634 per year Type: Staff, Full—Time Shift: Mostly Days, 8 am–4:30 pm Monday–Friday; may work outside dayshift hours; on‑call duties per departmental guidelines. Physical Requirements: Lifting, pulling, and pushing objects up to 50 lbs; sitting and/or standing for long periods. Job Summary The Adult Trauma Performance Improvement Nurse is a graduate of an accredited nursing school, with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing required. The candidate must demonstrate clinical expertise in trauma and critical care, be self‑directed, present information clearly and concisely in both written and verbal form, and collaborate positively with all healthcare disciplines and departments. Strong computer skills are essential, including word processing, database management, spreadsheet development, report writing, and statistical and graphical software. Responsibilities & Qualifications BSN required. Minimum of four years of related experience. Registered Nurse with a current Kentucky license in good standing with the Board of Nursing. Trauma nursing experience in ICU, ED, or flight settings required; experience in quality improvement and research preferred. Evidence of clinical expertise in trauma/critical care. Strong computer skills (word processing, database management, spreadsheet development, report writing, statistical and graphical software). Ability to work independently and present information clearly and concisely. Preferred Education & Experience Master of Science in Nursing or other healthcare‑related master’s degree preferred. Certification in trauma nursing (e.g., TNCC) preferred. Completion of a Trauma Outcomes and Performance Improvement Course (TOPIC) within two years of hire.
