Job Title: Stator Winder Insulator Job Description

The Stator Winder Insulator winds, tapes, and insulates coils for stators used in motors and generators, preparing insulation materials as needed and following established methods and specifications. This role uses a variety of hand and power tools, completes daily and weekly TPM tasks with accuracy and consistency, and works under normal supervision. A minimum of 5,000 hours of relevant experience is required to perform the work proficiently. The position also includes performing other related duties within the same salary grade or below, as assigned.

• Wind, tape, and insulate coils for stators used in motors and generators according to specifications.
• Prepare insulation materials as required for each job, ensuring availability and proper condition.
• Read and interpret blueprints, insulation diagrams, and work instructions to determine correct procedures.
• Apply insulation materials such as slot liners, phase paper, wedges, and tapes to stator cores and windings.
• Use hand tools and specialized equipment to cut, shape, and install insulation components accurately.
• Ensure proper fit and alignment of insulation to prevent electrical shorts and mechanical wear.
• Inspect insulation work for accuracy, completeness, and adherence to specifications and quality standards.
• Maintain accurate documentation of materials used and work completed for each assignment.
• Collaborate with winding and hookup teams to ensure smooth workflow and high-quality output.
• Follow all safety procedures and maintain a clean, organized work area at all times.
• Complete daily and weekly TPM (Total Productive Maintenance) tasks consistently and accurately.
• Use hand and power tools safely and effectively as required for production and assembly tasks.
• Perform other duties as designated by the supervisor within the same salary grade or below.

• Minimum of 5,000 hours of experience in stator winding, insulation, or closely related coil manufacturing work.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, insulation diagrams, and detailed work instructions.
• Proficiency in applying insulation materials such as slot liners, phase paper, wedges, and tapes to stator cores and windings.
• Skilled in using hand tools and specialized equipment to cut, shape, and install insulation components.
• Strong mechanical aptitude with experience in general labor, assembly, and production environments.
• Ability to ensure proper fit and alignment of insulation to prevent electrical shorts and mechanical wear.
• Attention to detail to inspect insulation work for accuracy, completeness, and compliance with specifications.
• Capability to maintain accurate documentation of materials used and work completed.
• Commitment to following all safety procedures and maintaining a clean, organized work area.
• Reliability in completing daily and weekly TPM tasks with consistency and accuracy.

• Experience working in coil, stator, or motor and generator manufacturing environments.
• Comfort working with hand and power tools in a production setting.
• Ability to collaborate effectively with winding and hookup teams to support smooth workflow.
• Willingness to perform a variety of duties within the same salary grade or below as needed.
• Interest in developing skills on CNC-driven machines in the Coil/Stator Manufacturing area.
• Opportunity for progression: after completion of 1,000 hours of training on a CNC-driven machine in the Coil/Stator Manufacturing area, a Stator Winder Insulator B can be promoted to Stator Winder Insulator A - Grade 4 (department/cell crossover does not apply).

This is a production and manufacturing environment focused on coil and stator manufacturing for motors and generators, using hand tools, power tools, and specialized equipment for winding and insulation work. Multiple shifts are available: first shift runs Monday through Thursday from 6:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.; second shift runs Monday through Thursday from 4:00 p.m. to 2:00 a.m.; and a fourth weekend shift runs Friday through Sunday from 6:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. The workplace emphasizes adherence to safety procedures, completion of daily and weekly TPM tasks, and maintaining a clean, organized work area. Employees work under normal supervision in a structured, production-oriented setting.

This is a Permanent position based out of North Mankato, MN.

The pay range for this position is $49400.00 - $60792.00/yr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
