Service Manager

Job Overview & Essential Functions Murphy-Hoffman Company, LLC is North America’s largest Kenworth truck dealership group and leasing group. Acting as a branch Service Manager, you will oversee daily operations, ensuring compliance with company policies and driving growth and profitability. Your responsibilities include establishing short- and long‑term operating and financial objectives, formulating annual and monthly sales and profit targets, reviewing department results and taking corrective action as needed, and promoting the Service Department and dealerships when traveling with the outside sales force. You will also work closely with the Parts Manager and outside sales to improve labor sales, maintain effective internal communication, promote safe work habits, and uphold positive employee and customer relations. In addition, you will coordinate warranty claims and manage warranty and policy adjustments fairly and honestly, minimizing impact on the customer, dealership, and vendors. Assess present and future needs, trends, problems, and profit opportunities of the Service Department. Establish short and long‑term operating and financial objectives in line with corporate plans and policies. Ensure policies and objectives are clearly understood and effectively applied. Formulate annual and monthly sales/profit objectives and expense budgets in accordance with company objectives. Review and appraise results of departmental activities and take appropriate action. Travel regularly with outside sales force to customer locations to promote Service Department and dealerships. Collaborate with Parts Manager and outside sales force to enhance labor sales efforts. Maintain appropriate communication within and between all departments within the branch. Promote safe work habits and ensure safety rules are followed. Develop and maintain policies and practices which foster positive employee and customer relations. Stay informed of competition, market conditions, and department operations; keep the Branch Manager informed. Coordinate processing of warranty claims with Warranty Manager and administer warranty and policy adjustments fairly. Perform other duties as assigned by a supervisor. Qualifications CDL preferred. Minimum of four years’ experience in a related field. Excellent leadership and communication skills. Previous supervisory experience required. Positive can‑do attitude. Strong work ethic and commitment to extra hours when needed.
