About the Position

Schedule / Job Type

Contract | Full-Time | Onsite | Days (3x12 Hours, 7:00 AM – 7:00 PM) | Every other weekend required

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct nursing care to an adult and geriatric oncology and hematology patient population across the continuum of care, from diagnosis through end of life
• Manage oncologic emergencies and implement DNR/comfort care protocols as appropriate
• Administer and monitor chemotherapy with appropriate precautions, as well as pain management modalities including morphine drips, Dilaudid drips, CADD pumps, and PCA pumps
• Maintain accurate and timely documentation using Epic and communicate effectively using SBAR methodology
• Adhere to a nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:6 within a 19-bed unit with an average daily census of 15
• Float within the facility and to a nearby campus location as needed

Required Qualifications

• Active Georgia RN license or valid Compact RN license required at time of submission
• Minimum of 2 years of oncology nursing experience (first-time travelers accepted)
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required
• Oncology Certified Nurse (OCN) certification required
• Proficiency with Epic EMR required
• Experience with Pyxis medication dispensing system

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Experience with hematology patient populations
• Familiarity with CADD pumps and PCA pump management in an oncology setting
• Prior travel nursing experience in an oncology or hematology unit
