About the Opportunity
CF Legal Recruiting & Staffing is partnering with a well-established, full-service New York law firm to hire a senior Commercial Real Estate Attorney. You will join a respected real estate practice and handle a broad, sophisticated mix of finance, transactional, joint venture and leasing matters for developers, investors, lenders and real estate professionals across the United States.
This role suits an experienced attorney who wants to run deals from start to finish, work directly with clients, and build a long-term practice on a clear growth path. You may be based in either the firm's Manhattan office or its Long Island office.
Key Responsibilities
Commercial Lending & Finance
• Represent lenders and borrowers in commercial real estate financing transactions
• Handle construction financing, mezzanine financing and debt restructurings
• Advise on the purchase and sale of commercial loans and debt positions
Commercial Real Estate Transactions
• Represent real estate professionals, developers and investors in the purchase, sale, construction and development of commercial properties
• Property types include commercial buildings, industrial facilities, shopping centers, hotels and multifamily housing nationwide
• Structure and close transactions involving 1031 exchanges
Real Estate Joint Ventures
• Represent both sponsors and investors in real estate joint ventures
• Draft and negotiate joint venture and operating agreements
Leasing
• Represent landlords and tenants in negotiating leases, net leases and ground leases
• Handle retail, commercial, office, industrial, big-box and parking garage leasing
Qualifications
• J.D. from an accredited law school
• Admission to the New York State Bar, or eligibility to waive in promptly
• 10–15 years of commercial real estate experience at a law firm; large or national firm experience is strongly preferred
• Broad experience across finance, acquisitions and dispositions, joint ventures and leasing
• Proven ability to manage transactions independently and serve as a primary client contact
• Excellent drafting, negotiation and communication skills
• Ability to mentor and supervise junior attorneys and paralegals
