Experience Opportunities:The total case load among all facilities averages 60,000 procedures per year and 6,000 deliveries per year. All surgical procedures are performed, excluding open heart, with a case mixture that includes general, orthopedic, vascular, neurology, ophthalmology, obstetric, urology, pediatric and others. Thirty percent of all cases are performed on an outpatient basis. CRNAs work a varied schedule, with 7-, 8-, 11-, 12- and 16-hour shifts that rotate among facilities. Any CRNAs taking a 12-hour in-house shift at night will have the following day off. This plan allows CRNAs to work a condensed schedule or work overtime if desired. CRNAs are not required to work overtime unless they choose to do so. The average work week is 36-40 hours.
