We are now looking for a Workshop Supervisor to join our team working for a better future.
The position is permanent, and the preferred location is Fort Lauderdale, Florida, USA.
What You Will Be Doing?
As a Workshop Supervisor, you will lead and coordinate the daily operations of the workshop team, ensuring safe, efficient, and high-quality service delivery. You will be responsible for planning and prioritizing activities, supporting employee development, driving operational excellence, and fostering collaboration across functions.
In this role, you will serve as the primary operational point of contact for workshop activities, ensuring compliance with organizational standards while promoting continuous improvement, safety, and customer satisfaction.
You will work closely with Technicians, the Quality Supervisor, Workshop Manager, and Field Service teams to achieve operational and business objectives.
Responsibilities:
- Lead and coordinate the daily activities of the workshop team, ensuring safe, efficient, and high-quality execution of work.
- Assign tasks, establish priorities, and optimize resources to meet production and service schedules.
- Conduct daily meetings and Toolbox Talks, ensuring employees have the information, documentation, and resources needed to perform their work.
- Support employee selection, onboarding, training, performance management, and professional development.
- Monitor team performance and provide coaching and feedback to drive continuous improvement.
- Support troubleshooting efforts and assist teams in resolving operational challenges.
- Ensure compliance with quality, safety, and operational standards.
- Manage workshop documentation, work orders, and reporting requirements.
- Safeguard workshop tools, equipment, and facilities while supporting maintenance planning activities.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders to optimize service delivery and customer satisfaction.
- Promote the adoption of new tools, technologies, and best practices to improve workshop performance.
Required Qualifications:
Education
- Associate's degree, technical diploma, or bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business Management, Industrial Technology, or a related field, or equivalent work experience.
Experience
- Experience leading workshop, maintenance, manufacturing, service, or similar operational teams.
- Experience managing daily operations, work prioritization, and resource allocation.
- Experience supporting safety, quality, and continuous improvement initiatives.
Skills
- Strong leadership and people management capabilities.
- Excellent organizational and planning skills.
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Proficiency with computer applications and administrative systems.
Other Requirements:
- Commitment to safety, quality, and customer satisfaction.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in marine, power generation, heavy equipment, or industrial service environments.
- Previous experience supervising workshop or field service teams.
- Knowledge of Wärtsilä products, services, and operational processes.
- Experience with quality management systems and continuous improvement methodologies.
- Spanish language skills are considered an advantage.

- Driving (local/over the road).
- Bend, squat, sit, and stand for prolonged periods.
- Climbing and balancing.

Travel Requirements:
Occasional domestic travel may be required for training, customer visits, or business-related activities.
