Law Enforcement Agent - Law Enforcement Bureau Investigator Law Enforcement Bureau Investigators must be highly motivated. They will investigate crimes that occur within our facilities, including the community correctional centers. They will update the Board of Pardons and Parole with reports. They will work with the District Attorney to screen charges, and possibly testify in court. Some of the investigations will lead us to work with task forces in the communities. They are on-call on a rotation, with a varying work schedule. Key responsibilities and day to day responsibilities of this position: An LEB Investigator will need to perform the following roles:
Applicants who meet the minimum requirements will be notified via email and scheduled for testing. The testing process will consist of a Physical Fitness Test for those needing POST Certification and an oral interview for all applicants. The Physical Fitness test will be the Utah POST Entrance Requirements, and only those with passing scores will be invited to an oral interview.
candidate's rank on the list may not determine the order in which positions are offered. All offers are considered conditional upon successful completion of certification requirements, a field-training program, and an 18-month probation period. Candidates who are not currently employed with the State of Utah may test for list positions but will
not be offered positions until all new hire requirements are satisfied. Upon satisfaction of all new hire requirements, candidates are "eligible" for positions, depending on availability and need. Applicants who are Correctional Officer certified only will be required to complete the LEO academy within one year of hire. Documentation (proof) may be requested at any time to verify the accuracy of the information the applicant indicates on the application. Before an offer is made or applicants are placed on a "list" a complete background check will take place that includes: 1) Review of performance evaluations and notes 2) Check the employee personnel files and review for disciplinary issues 3) Criminal background check 4) References, including current supervisor. If any issues are revealed during the background check that are concerning and do not merit offering a position, you will be notified and will be removed from the recruitment list. 5) For external applicants, a polygraph, drug test, medical evaluation, and other background checks will be conducted prior to any job offers being made. There may be situations when the hiring official will use a lateral transfer to fill a position. *Please note that the email address associated with the account used to submit an application, Is the email address that will be used for all correspondence throughout the testing process. This includes testing process dates/times, sign-up sheets, and other needed information. UDC now offers 1 for 1 year of service credit on our certified pay plan. - Must pass all department firearms qualifications biannually.

- Vertical Jump (at least 15 inches)
- Push-Ups (at least 16 Reps - Maximum repetitions with no time constraint and no
rest during this phase of the test) - Isometric Plank (held for one minute)
- 1.5 Mile Run (in 15 minutes and 37 seconds or less)
- This position requires POST certification; Peace Officer Standards Training in
Utah - Will occasionally require working around offenders.
- The work requires considerable and strenuous physical exertion such as frequent climbing, lifting heavy objects over 50 pounds, crouching or crawling in restricted areas, defending oneself and/or others against physical attack.
- Risks found in potentially dangerous or unusual environmental stress situations, e.g. working at great heights, working in extreme outdoor weather conditions, being subject to possible physical attack, etc.
