Job Description\n American Traveler is seeking a travel nurse RN ICU - Intensive Care Unit for a travel nursing job in San Antonio, Texas.Job Description & Requirements\n \n Specialty: ICU - Intensive Care Unit\n Discipline: RN\n Start Date: ASAP\n Duration: 13 weeks\n 36 hours per week\n Shift: 12 hours, nights\n Employment Type: Travel\n \n Assignment Overview\n \n Shift: Nights, 3x12hrs\n Hours: 36 hrs/wk\n Start Date: Jul 27, 2026\n Length: 13 weeks\n Openings: 1\n Description\n American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Neuro Critical Care Unit position requiring TX or compact RN license and NIH Stroke Certification.Details\n \n Work in the Neuro Critical Care Unit (NCCU) of a hospital setting\n 14 ICU beds with 1:2 patient ratio and 20 Med/Surg beds with 1:5 patient ratio\n Unit supported by 1 PCA and 1 unit coordinator\n Uses standard critical care equipment\n Documentation via Meditech, with prior experience preferred\n Night shift schedule from 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM\n Rotating weekends required, including every other weekend\n No on-call responsibilities\n Floating required as needed per facility floating policy\n Requirements\n \n Active TX or compact RN license required; temporary licenses not accepted\n Current BLS and ACLS certifications required (AHA or ARC accepted)\n NIH Stroke Certification required\n Minimum 2 years of recent RN experience required\n Vasopressor administration experience required\n Meditech experience preferred\n US Social Security Number and date of birth required for consideration\n No employment gaps of 90 days or more within the past 12 months\n Additional Information\n \n Provide critical care nursing services to neuro critical care patients\n Deliver care in a cohesive, well-established critical care team environment\n Scrub color requirement: navy top and pant with navy or white scrub jacket\n Nails must be clean and healthy; hair neat and clean without extreme styles or colors\n Facial hair must be clean and neatly trimmed\n Body art should be covered when feasible; visible piercings other than ears are prohibited\n Must reside outside a 50-mile radius of the facility to be considered; no local candidates accepted\n Attendance reliability is critical, as the unit has experienced issues with call-ins and no-shows\n \n \n American Traveler Job ID #P-731170.
