Conventional / Manual Machinist – 2nd Shift Los Angeles, CA $24.00 – $31.00/hour Monday–Friday | 2:30 PM – 11:30 PM Training Schedule: All new hires will start on 1st shift for training (5:30 AM – 6:00 AM start time, or earlier if overtime is required). Once training is completed and you transition to 2nd shift, a shift differential will be applied. Position Overview Seeking a skilled Conventional Machinist / Manual Machinist with hands‑on experience operating manual equipment in a fast‑paced machine shop environment. Ideal candidates have strong fabrication experience and are comfortable working to tight tolerances from blueprints. Key Responsibilities Set up and operate manual lathes, mills, grinders, and drill presses Fabricate precision components to blueprint specifications and GD&T tolerances Perform deburring, manual grinding, and light assembly work Inspect parts using micrometers, calipers, height gauges, and other precision tools Repair and modify tooling and equipment components Monitor feeds, speeds, and machine performance Maintain documentation and follow all safety standards Required Qualifications 1+ year experience in conventional/manual machining Experience with fabrication, deburring, and manual grinding Ability to read blueprints and understand GD&T Knowledge of cutting tool geometry and tooling selection Familiarity with precision inspection equipment Strong attention to detail and accurate recordkeeping High School Diploma or equivalent Preferred Aerospace machining experience Machine shop coursework (trade school or community college) Working knowledge of math, geometry, and trigonometry Ideal Candidate Detail-oriented, safety-focused, and able to work efficiently within a structured process improvement environment.
