Accounts Payable Specialist

A growing and well-established General Contractor is seeking a detail-oriented Accounts Payable Specialist to join its team. This individual will play a key role in supporting the company's financial operations by processing invoices, managing vendor payments, maintaining accurate records, and ensuring compliance with company procedures. The ideal candidate is organized, proactive, and comfortable working in a fast-paced construction environment while collaborating with project teams, vendors, subcontractors, and accounting personnel.

Responsibilities

• Review, verify, and process vendor and subcontractor invoices for payment
• Ensure invoices are accurately coded and approved prior to payment processing
• Prepare and process weekly check runs, ACH payments, and other disbursements
• Reconcile vendor statements and resolve discrepancies in a timely manner

Qualifications

• Previous experience in accounts payable, construction accounting, or a related accounting role
• Construction industry experience preferred
• Understanding of invoice processing, vendor management, lien waivers, and subcontractor compliance documentation
• Strong organizational skills with exceptional attention to detail
• Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office, particularly Excel
