Facility Maintenance WorkerPrimary Purpose: Clean and maintain district facilities using routine procedures to maintain a high standard of safety, cleanliness and efficiency of building operations and grounds.Qualifications:High School diploma or equivalent preferred, but not requiredIf not a citizen must have proper paperwork, IDAbility to read and understand instructions for cleaning, maintenance and safety proceduresAbility to understand execute detailed written or oral instructionsKnowledge of cleaning, maintenance and safety proceduresAbility to perform minor repairsAbility to operate cleaning equipment and lift heavy equipmentAbility to properly handle cleaning suppliesEvening Shift Major Responsibilities and Duties:Maintain a cleaning schedule that will include cleaning of floors, chalkboards, wastebaskets, windows furniture, equipment, light fixtures and restroomsKeep facilities and grounds, including sidewalks, driveways, parking lots and play areas, neat and cleanComply with local laws and procedures for storage and disposal of trashAssist in maintain an inventory of cleaning supplies and equipment and request additional supplies as neededAssist with lunchroom set up, including arranging tables and chairsPerform preventive maintenance to ensure the comfort, health and safety of students and staffMake minor building repairs as needed and report major repair needs to campus secretary so a work order can be madeMove furniture or equipment within building as directed by principalAssist in setting up facilities for special eventsAssist with opening and closing facilities each day and checking to ensure that all exit doors are open and all panic bolts are working properly during hours of building occupancyFollow established procedures for locking, checking and safeguarding facilitiesInspect machines and equipment for safety and efficiencyFollow established safety procedures and techniques to perform job duties; operate tools and equipment according to established safety proceduresCorrect unsafe conditions in work areas and promptly report any conditions that are not immediately correctable to Campus LeadMisc.
