Unit Details

16-bed Progressive Care / Med Surg Unit
Ratios: 1:3–5
First-time travelers accepted
Minimum 2 years of PCU experience required

Patient Population

Care for high-acuity medical, surgical, and cardiac step-down patients including:

Cardiothoracic surgery patients
COPD, CHF, A-fib, SVT
COVID-19 pneumonia & hypoxia
Sepsis, DKA, UTI
HD/CKD & dialysis patients
Bariatric & post-op surgical patients
Continuous BiPAP & Nitric Oxide Therapy

Required Skills

Telemetry interpretation
Chronic trachs & chest tubes
High-flow oxygen systems
IV starts
Experience with drips: Heparin, Insulin, Diltiazem, Amiodarone, Nitro

Certifications

Active RN License
BLS & ACLS required

Technology

EMR: EPIC preferred
Alaris IV Pumps
Pyxis Medication System

Support Staff

CNA support
Charge RN
RT & Hospitalist available 24/7
Phlebotomy & Telemetry Techs

Scheduling

12-hour shifts

Days: 7AM–7PM
Nights: 7PM–7AM

Every other holiday
Weekend rotation required
No on-call
