Job Description

The Automotive Technician / Automotive Mechanic will perform diagnostics, repairs, maintenance, and inspections primarily in a small independent shop environment. Reporting to the Service Manager, this role requires skilled hands-on expertise to ensure vehicles are serviced efficiently and safely while maintaining strong customer communication.

Responsibilities

Conduct vehicle diagnostics to identify issues
Perform repairs on engines, brakes, electrical and hydraulic systems
Complete routine maintenance and preventive care
Carry out thorough vehicle inspections
Communicate effectively with customers regarding repair needs and outcomes
Adhere to safety standards and compliance regulations

Preferred Qualifications

5+ years experience in automotive repair
High school diploma or equivalent
Valid driver’s license
Proficiency in engine diagnostics and brake systems
Strong troubleshooting skills with electrical and hydraulic systems
Experience with preventive maintenance
Excellent customer communication abilities
Effective problem-solving and time management skills
Commitment to safety compliance
