Opportunity:

RN - ICU

Job Details:

• Work 12-hour day shifts from 7:00 AM to 7:30 PM
• Every other weekend rotation required
• No on-call responsibilities
• 17-bed ICU unit with 1:2 patient ratio (acuity based)
• 3 years ICU experience required; CRRT experience (Nxstage) preferred
• First-time travelers must have 3 years of ICU experience
• Required certifications: BLS, ACLS
• Preferred certification: NIHSS
• Must be skilled in ventilator/trach management, invasive line management (A-line, CVP, Swan), drains/tube management, foley management, chest tubes, post-surgical recovery, post cath experience, CVVH, balloon pumps, and CRRT (NxStage)
• Experience with EPIC charting system preferred
• Work with Alaris pumps and Pyxis medication system
• Care for patients with COVID, sepsis, stroke, cardiac/vascular conditions, and various surgical cases
• May float to intermediate units (1:3), MSU, ED boarding (1:4), and observation units (1:4)
• Travelers will float first before permanent staff
• One day orientation includes meeting with educator, nurse manager, and working with preceptor
• Dress code: any color scrubs, no camo/denim/hoodies
• More than 2 sick calls may result in contract evaluation and possible termination
• RTO requires manager approval

This medical center is a 136-bed Level III Trauma Center featuring a Level II NICU and Primary Stroke Center designation. The facility provides comprehensive critical care services with 24/7 intensivist coverage, dedicated ICU pharmacist support during day shifts, respiratory therapy around the clock, and specialized equipment for advanced cardiac and renal support. The ICU offers robust support services including charge nurses, unit secretaries, phlebotomy teams, educators, and bedside telemetry monitoring to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
