ACCOUNTING TECHNICAN III

Anticipated Hiring Salary: $4,790/month; $57,480/year Full Salary Range: $4,280-$6,849/month; $51,360 - $82,188/year Benefits Medical and dental options for permanent employees and dependents. Description of Job The Executive Director's Office (EDO) provides administrative and management services to the Department. This position is within the Administrative Services Office's Accounting section, specifically the Fire Billing unit, supporting the Colorado Division of Fire Prevention and Control (DFPC). The purpose of this position is to provide technical accounting support to DFPC by reviewing expenses and invoicing related to wildland fire incidents. About the Work Unit The EDO includes Executive Director, Deputy Director, Administrative Services Office, Human Resources Office, Compliance Office, Colorado Integrated Criminal Justice Information Systems, and Office of School Safety. Work Environment Hybrid – a minimum of once a month in Windsor and once a quarter in Lakewood/Golden; subject to change. Core business hours: Monday-Friday, 8 am – 5 pm. Key Responsibilities Process expenses and revenue from wildland fire incidents. Assess accuracy and adherence to state fiscal rules, CDPS policies, DFPC guidelines, federal incident business practices, and National Wildfire Coordinating Group (NWCG) guidelines. Identify and assess viability of expenses/revenue. Work closely with DFPC program staff, EDO, and external customers. Other Duties As Assigned Assist other functions within the unit as needed, including processing expenses and/or revenue for payroll, travel, credit cards, equipment, cooperators, contractors, and federal agencies.
