Plasma Center Nurse - RN

Job Description You will support plasma center operations as a Medical Support Specialist (Plasma Center Nurse) reporting to the Plasma Center Manager and serving under the guidance of the Center Physician. Responsibilities Determine donor eligibility, managing informed consent, AIDS education, confidential self‑exclusion, medical history interview, physical examination, blood testing, and reviewing serological protein electrophoresis (SPE). Evaluate donor reactions and follow applicable standard operating procedures for medical emergencies, including coordinating with the Center Physician and transporting donors to emergency care if necessary. Refer to the Center Physician or Medical Affairs for medical or technical guidance on donor safety and eligibility. Support the Hepatitis B and seasonal flu vaccination programs for employees. Manage employee incidents and determine if further evaluation by occupational health or emergency response is required. Assume the role of Pandemic Coordinator when authorized by Environmental, Health and Safety (EHS) and support investigations related to pandemic threats. Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent, including graduate equivalent of a recognized nursing program with state requirements. Current license or certification in the state of assignment: Registered Nurse (RN), Nurse Practitioner (NP), or Physician Assistant (PA). Current CPR and AED certification. Fulfillment of state requirements for basic IV therapy. Completion of FDA‑approved training for BioLife Medical Support Specialist. Two years of experience in a clinical or hospital setting.
