Advanced Practice Provider (NP/PA) - Orthopaedic Foot and Ankle Surgery - Procedural

Position Summary The Medical College of Wisconsin's Department/Division/Program of Orthopaedic Surgery is seeking a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to provide specialty medical care. This position is located in Menomonee Falls, WI at the Froedtert Center for Advanced Care Clinic and Froedtert Menomonee Falls Hospital. The Advanced Practice Provider (APP) works as a member of a multidisciplinary health care team who will contribute to excellence in program administration, patient care, patient safety, research, quality improvement, and teaching. Responsibilities Collaborates with interdisciplinary health care teams in diagnosis and treatment of conditions requiring orthopedic intervention in a blended environment as a member of the orthopedic surgery department. Writes accurate and timely progress notes, procedure notes, and/or admission and transfer orders. Orders, performs, and interprets screening and diagnostic procedures and tests, and appropriately communicates and documents information. Privileged to perform procedures beyond core as identified by the Orthopaedic Foot and Ankle Division services. Facilitates and communicates with patient, family and staff to promote continuity of care across the continuum of care. Attends required training and meets key regulatory requirements, including those of the privileging institution, CMS, and the Joint Commission. Evaluates quality outcomes for the patients receiving care of this team through participation in the development of quality indicators and outcomes dashboard. Acquires information on the most current development and trends in the Physician Assistant field and/or Nurse Practitioner field, through educational programs, in‑services, professional associates, and current literature. Assists in the OR as needed. Schedule Scheduling flexibility required to provide for an appropriate level of patient care coverage. May require evening or weekend hours in the future based on business needs. Monday–Friday 7:00–5:00. No holidays. Community Call: 1st Call 6 weekends/year. Qualifications Preferred Experience Previous experience of 2+ years working as an APP is preferred, not required. Highly desired previous experience in acute care, surgical specialties or medicine teams such as hospitalist, internal medicine, perioperative, cardiology and emergency. Minimum Education Advanced Practice Nurse: Master's Degree or higher in Nursing from a nationally accredited organization. Physician Assistant: Bachelor's Degree or higher in Physician Assistant Studies from an ARC‑PA‑accredited organization.
