The facility is committed to delivering the highest standard of patient-centered care and offers healthcare professionals a rewarding opportunity to serve those who serve our country.ResponsibilitiesProvide direct nursing care to patients undergoing GI procedures including colonoscopy, EGD, flexible sigmoidoscopy, and other diagnostic and therapeutic proceduresPerform pre-procedure nursing assessments including patient history review, medication reconciliation, allergy verification, and readiness assessmentInitiate and maintain intravenous (IV) access and administer medications per provider orders and facility protocolsMonitor patients receiving moderate/conscious sedation including cardiac monitoring, respiratory status, oxygen saturation, and hemodynamic stabilityRecognize and respond to adverse events and emergencies in accordance with BLS and ACLS protocolsProvide post-procedure recovery care and patient education for discharge readiness and follow-up careAssist with preparation, operation, and maintenance of gastroenterology procedural equipmentDocument all patient care activities accurately and timely within the electronic medical recordCoordinate patient care in collaboration with providers and interdisciplinary healthcare teamsQualificationsEducation: Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) from a program accredited by ACEN or CCNE.Experience: 2 years of nursing experience in an outpatient setting within the past 3 years, plus a minimum of 1 year of bedside hospital experience. Must have experience performing care and treatment of patients in a gastroenterology setting.Certifications: BLS and ALS (ACLS) — must be maintained current throughout assignment.Licensure: Current, unrestricted RN license in any U.S. state or jurisdiction.U.S. Citizenship requiredScheduleMonday – Friday, 0645–1515 (8-hour shifts). 30-minute uncompensated lunch.
