Responsibilities Understands and adheres to the WPH Performance Standards, Policies, and Behaviors. Provides psychiatric evaluations and consultations for adult patients admitted throughout the hospital. Evaluates patients presenting to the Emergency Department and provides recommendations for treatment, admission, transfer, or discharge as appropriate. Consults with attending physicians and other members of the healthcare team regarding psychiatric diagnosis, treatment planning, and ongoing patient management. Documents all patient encounters, consultations, assessments, and treatment recommendations in a timely and accurate manner. Participates in multidisciplinary rounds, case discussions, and treatment planning activities. Communicates effectively with patients, families, physicians, nursing staff, and ancillary personnel regarding patient care and treatment recommendations. Maintains compliance with all hospital policies, regulatory requirements, accreditation standards, and professional practice guidelines. Participates in departmental quality improvement and performance improvement activities as requested. Attends departmental meetings, educational programs, and other professional activities as required. Performs other duties as assigned.
