SECURITY OFFICER

Job Summary Hours of position are variable days and nights; 12‑hour shifts. Guard’s patients, staff and property against fire, theft, vandalism, and illegal entry by performing the following duties. Job Responsibilities Other duties may be assigned. Patrol buildings and grounds within the Network on a routine basis. Examine doors, windows, offices and equipment to determine they are properly secured. Communicate policy infractions to customers, such as loitering, smoking, or carrying forbidden articles, and detain persons engaging in suspicious or criminal acts, or escort off campus. Provide escorts for customers to their vehicles. Watch for and report irregularities such as fire hazards, leaking water pipes, and security doors left unlocked and equipment left on. Conduct safety/security educational programs. Sound alarm or call police or fire department in case of fire or presence of persons engaged in suspicious or criminal acts. Record data such as property damage or unusual occurrences. Monitor parking control and visitation programs. Determine where a potential security risk exists and the best way to minimize the risk. Display competency in the role of Security Officer as evidenced in the annual Performance Appraisal following the FHN PRIDE Standards. Qualifications and Requirements Education: High school diploma or general education degree (GED); with one to two years related security or law enforcement experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Must also possess a current Illinois driver’s license. Required Experience: The employee must demonstrate strong verbal and written communication skills. Excellent customer service skills must be continuously demonstrated with all customers. Populations Served The employee may come into contact with patients across all age groups; however, the role does not involve direct patient care or treatment. #J-18808-Ljbffr
