Job Title

Travel RN – Medical Surgical (Night Shift)

Contract | 13-Week Travel Assignment | Nights, 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM | Onsite

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care on a 36-bed post-operative surgical unit with a 1:5 patient ratio
• Perform wound care including packing, dressing changes, and wound vac maintenance
• Manage Foley catheter care with continuous bladder irrigation, ostomy appliance changes, and nasogastric tube insertion and suction
• Administer blood products and TPN; maintain central line care and dressing changes
• Maintain post-operative surgical procedure sites and support patient recovery across specialties including vascular, bariatric, urology, colorectal, and general surgery
• Document and chart using Meditech EMR ; participate in bedside shift report

Required Qualifications

• Active RN license valid in Tennessee (or compact license eligibility)
• Minimum 2 years of RN experience in a Medical-Surgical setting
• Current BLS certification required
• Strong time management and efficiency skills; ability to thrive in a fast-paced unit with short length of stay
• Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively as part of a team

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Background in post-operative surgical areas such as vascular, bariatric, urology, colorectal, or general surgery
• Experience with bariatric-fitted ADL equipment, wound vacs, drains, and patient lifts
• Outgoing, customer service-oriented personality with strong communication skills
