System Administrator

Location: San Diego, CA

Schedule: Onsite presence required

Contract: 6-Month Contract (20 hours/week) to convert to a full-time permanent employee (40 hours/week) after the 6 months

We are seeking a hands-on System Administrator to support and maintain internal IT infrastructure in a dynamic business environment. This role combines day-to-day IT operations, user support, infrastructure management, and security-focused initiatives. The ideal candidate is comfortable working independently, managing priorities, and collaborating with both internal teams and external vendors.

Responsibilities

• Ensure reliability, availability, and security of local IT infrastructure and systems
• Support continuous improvement of IT processes and operational efficiency
• Provide user support, troubleshooting, and IT guidance
• Manage workstation deployment, lifecycle management, onboarding/offboarding, and end-user support
• Maintain and monitor networking, firewall, backup, and recovery systems
• Coordinate with external IT service providers and internal stakeholders
• Participate in infrastructure, security, and automation projects
• Promote cybersecurity awareness and support adoption of new tools and technologies

Requirements

• 4-5+ years of relevant IT systems administration experience
• Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills
• Ability to work independently in a small IT environment with minimal supervision
• Experience supporting business users in a professional setting
• Familiarity with common enterprise technologies such as Microsoft 365, virtualization platforms, networking tools, backup systems, and firewalls
• Service-oriented mindset with attention to quality and security
• Excellent written and verbal English communication skills
• Must be legally authorized to work in the United States
