I-295 spurs off I-95 to run through the city, the jetport sits minutes from downtown, and South Portland and Freeport make practical residential bases. The Old Port's cobblestone streets, the working waterfront, and the Eastern Promenade give travelers plenty to do near the harbor, with island ferries leaving from the piers.
