Caregiver Position

Qualifications

Must be a certified home health aide for New Jersey

Unrestricted driver's license and clean driving record

Your own safe automobile and valid automobile insurance

Must be able to pass a criminal background check

Must be at least 21 years old

High school diploma or GED required

Previous experience preferred

Able to bend, kneel, squat, stand, and lift heavy objects as needed

Able to work days, evenings, weekends, and holidays

Effective oral and written communication

Excellent interpersonal skills

Exceptional customer service skills

Neat, clean, and professional appearance

Willing to drive to private homes in the area to perform the duties of this position

Willing and able to work a flexible schedule

Able to follow verbal and written instructions and document services provided

Able to function independently in the home setting with minimal direct supervision

Able to maintain satisfactory relationships with clients, family, and team members

Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds.

Responsibilities

Assists client with all personal care functions as needed (bathing, dressing, toileting, grooming, oral hygiene, ambulation, feeding)

Performs light housekeeping tasks (such as dusting, vacuuming, mopping, making beds, cleaning bathrooms and kitchens) and assists with laundry (washing, folding, ironing)

Assists in meeting nutritional needs by providing meal planning, meal preparation, grocery shopping, dishes and kitchen clean-up

Assists client to and from daily activities (doctor appointment, errands, social activities, etc.)

Reminds client to take self-administered medications.

Records in the in-home client logbook what was done daily and your observations in compliance with regulations and standards

Observes and reports any changes in client's mental, physical or emotional condition or home situation to supervisor.

Establishes and maintains effective communication and a professional relationship with clients, family members, and co-workers
