About the Role
The Company is seeking a VP of Strategy for its Academic & Government (A&G) business, with a focus on the Academic Leaders & Funders segment. The successful candidate will be a key partner in shaping the strategic agenda, defining critical issues, and driving problem-solving to meet the evolving needs of the academic and government communities. This role requires a strategic and analytical thinker with a strong background in information solutions, academic research, and publishing. The VP will be responsible for developing and executing strategic and operating plans, leading a strategy team, and working closely with product, marketing, and sales teams. They will also lead multiple strategic projects, translate strategies into execution plans, and drive data-driven measures for strategy execution. Candidates for the VP of Strategy position at the company should have a proven track record of success in a matrix environment, with the ability to manage conflicting opinions and priorities. Deep quantitative skills and the ability to perform complex data analyses are essential. The role demands a self-starter with the capacity to manage multiple initiatives, advanced leadership and team orientation, and excellent communication skills, including the ability to present to an executive audience. The ideal candidate will have experience in managing strategy projects independently, from inception to execution, and possess advanced financial acumen linking strategy to commercial performance. Influential collaboration and an out-of-the-box thinking approach are also key requirements for this leadership position.
