Job Description
Join Our Amazing Team as a Night Shift Registered Nurse!

Job Description:
- Shift: Nights 7p-7a; 3x12
- License: Current RN license - Maine or compact
- Certifications: Current, unexpired certifications required
- Immunizations:
- Varicella: 2 doses or titer
- HepB: 3 doses or titer or declination (declination accepted only)
- MMR: 2 doses or titer
- Tdap: Required
- PPD: 2 step or titer within past 12 months
- Flu shot: Required during flu season
- Requirements:
- Current Maine nursing license
- BSN preferred
- Critical thinking skills and problem-solving abilities
- Effective verbal and written communication skills
- Knowledge base for nursing assessment and skills for all age groups
- BLS certification required; ACLS certification preferred
- Physical Environment:
- Requires standing, walking, sitting, kneeling, stooping, crouching, bending, reaching
- Ability to lift/push patients in wheelchairs and stretchers, lifting up to 30 lbs.
- Visual and hearing acuity needed for patient assessment
- Possible exposure to infectious diseases, bloodborne pathogens, toxic cleaning chemicals, and fumes

Job Functions:
- Perform initial and ongoing age-appropriate nursing assessments
- Complete discharge assessments to identify patient discharge needs
- Identify priorities for nursing care delivery
- Develop and implement individualized plans of care based on patient needs
- Execute nursing actions to achieve patient goals
- Communicate patient care activities effectively with healthcare team members
- Document patient care activities according to standards and policies
- Maintain a safe and supportive environment for patients and staff
- Ensure availability and safekeeping of supplies and equipment
- Report safety/legal concerns to the nursing manager promptly
- Participate in emergency/disaster preparedness planning and drills
- Engage in hospital-wide quality improvement initiatives
